Parmi tous les bluesmen que la bande de Page pilla sans vergogne mais avec génie figuraient, en bonne place, Howlin' Wolf et surtout Hubert Sumlin à qui le guitariste de Led Zeppelin vouait un culte...
"L'influence" du blues noir américain sur la scène rock anglaise des 60s est certaine et dépasse largement le seul cas de ledzep.
Elle est d'ailleurs bien antérieure à ce groupe puisque c'est dès le début des 60s que le répertoire du Wolf, de Muddy Waters, de B.B. King, pour ne citer que les monuments, a été repris avec plus ou moins de bonheur par les Stones, les Animals et bien d'autres.
