Joe Medwick

Joe Medwick Masters est né le 22 juin 1933 à Houston. Comme beaucoup d'autre il commence à chanter dans une chorale religieuse. Il découvre le blues dans les années cinquante, qu'il chante dans les bars de Houston.

Pratiquement inconnu aujourd'hui en tant qu'interprète, c'est surtout comme auteur de chansons comme "Further On Up The Road", "I Pity The Fool", "Cry Cry Cry", "Call On Me" qu'il écrit pour Bobby Blue Bland, ou "Driving Wheel", écrit pour Robert Parker que son nom reste connu de quelques initiés.

Joe Medwick a pourtant enregistré, soit sous ce nom, soit sous celui de Joe Masters ou encore TV & the Tribesmen une oeuvre de qualité.

Il décède en 1992, complètement oublié.

Excellent blog, congratulations!
Joe Medwick can also be heard as a guest in GRADY GAINES & THE TEXAS UPSETTERS - "Full Gain" (1988, Black Top Records), singin`two tracks "If I Don't Get Involved" and "Your Girlfriend". Great voice.
