Thank you for Sleepy John's music especially the 20's and 30's stuff. He was a great singer and an okay-guitar-player and created fantastic songs. I only got few songs from his beginning in the 20's but I think the songs with the piano a superb. His recordings from the 60's were good too but sometimes a little too chaotic. He did even a record (I think on DELMARK) with people like Jimmy Dawkins, the harp-player Carey Bell who pasted some weeks ago and Sunny Slim in the amplified Chicago-style.
When he was found in the 60's by blues enthusiasts there was doubt if he was identical with the same musician from this recordings because B B Broonzy told some researchers in the mid-fifties Estes had already died some years ago.
By the way - if you have problems open the .rar files you should start with part 2(password) instead of part 1.
